How does excel® V+ work?
The Cutera excel® V+ treats vascular skin conditions by administering a unique high power green laser that is absorbed by the abnormal blood vessels in the skin. The laser will heat these vessels until they are removed.
How can I prepare for vein removal?
The treatment area(s) will need to be shaved in advance, and we also ask that you stop using self-tanner. You should not receive treatments if you have broken skin, any sun exposure or tan, or a skin rash.
What can I expect during treatments?
The Cutera excel® V+ Laser safely and effectively treats the tiny, superficial veins and the deeper blue leg veins in men and women of skin types 1-4. By delivering a pulse of light energy into the vessel, the blood within the vein coagulates, eventually destroying the vessel and redirecting the blood flow to veins deeper below the skin’s surface. The number of treatments will vary depending on the size, number and color of the vessels being targeted but the average patient may experience 2-3 treatments. Some patients experience a slight warming sensation while the pulses are being delivered, but overall the treatment is comfortable.
Unlike other procedures, injections or a topical anesthesia are not required. The procedure typically takes 15 to 30 minutes and the device is placed over the affected area until the abnormal vessels diminish.
When will I see results and how long will they last?
For most cases, the Cutera excel® V+ provides quick treatments with best results within a few weeks.
