Vascular lesions are visible blood vessels or collections of blood vessels that can appear as red, purple, or blue marks on the face or body. They include concerns such as spider veins, facial vessels, cherry angiomas, periorbital veins, and other forms of persistent redness. While many are harmless, they can become more noticeable over time and may be difficult to conceal with skincare or makeup.
At The Kaga Institute, our team uses advanced laser technology to selectively target unwanted vessels while protecting the surrounding skin. Because vascular concerns vary significantly in size, color, depth, and location, treatment is customized to the specific type of lesion rather than using the same settings for every patient.

How can The Kaga Institute help me treat vascular lesions?
We offer the latest, most advanced aesthetics technology to help you look better, not different:
- Excel® V+
- XEO®
What types of vascular lesions can be treated?
Vascular lesions encompass several different concerns rather than a single condition. Depending on the individual lesion, our laser treatments may be appropriate for:
- Spider veins on the face and body
- Facial and nasal blood vessels
- Cherry angiomas
- Periorbital veins around the eyes
- Venous lakes
- Telangiectasias
- Certain leg veins
- Persistent facial redness associated with rosacea
- Certain other benign vascular lesions
Some vascular-looking lesions require medical evaluation before aesthetic treatment, particularly if they are new, changing, symptomatic, or haven’t previously been diagnosed.
Excel® V+
Excel® V+ is one of our most versatile technologies for treating vascular concerns. The system combines 532 nm and 1064 nm wavelengths, allowing our team to address vessels at different depths and customize treatment according to the lesion and skin type.
Laser energy is selectively absorbed by the targeted blood vessel, generating controlled heat that causes the vessel to close. The body then gradually clears the treated vessel.
Excel® V+ may be used for concerns including facial redness, spider veins, nasal vessels, cherry angiomas, periorbital veins, venous lakes, and certain leg veins.
XEO®
XEO® provides another customizable approach to vascular treatment. Its Nd:YAG technology can penetrate more deeply into the skin, making it useful for certain deeper or larger vascular lesions on the face and body.
Our team selects the appropriate technology and settings based on the vessel’s depth, size, color, location, and your skin characteristics.
How does laser treatment remove vascular lesions?
Vascular lasers work by directing energy toward hemoglobin within the targeted blood vessel. The energy is converted into heat, damaging the unwanted vessel while minimizing effects on surrounding tissue. Over time, the treated vessel is naturally cleared by the body and becomes less visible. Smaller superficial vessels may respond quickly, while larger or deeper vessels may require multiple treatments.
Which vascular treatment is right for me?
The right treatment depends on what type of vascular lesion you have, how deep and large the vessel is, its location, and your skin type. A tiny facial vessel, for example, may require a different wavelength and treatment approach than a deeper blue leg vein. Having multiple laser options allows our team to customize treatment instead of treating every vascular concern the same way.
Do vascular lesions go away on their own?
Some vascular lesions can change over time, but many acquired concerns such as spider veins, facial vessels, and cherry angiomas tend to persist without treatment. Because not every red or purple lesion is the same, proper evaluation is important before deciding whether laser treatment is appropriate.
